Alzheimer's Care/Pathways Program
Alden’s
Pathways Program is designed to provide dignified living in a safe,
secure and restraint-free environment for individuals with Alzheimer’s
Disease or related dementias. The Pathways Program provides a
therapeutic setting that fosters:
- Independence
- Acceptance
- Compassion
- Love
The Pathways Program recognizes the unique needs of each person and
provides comfort and structure through a holistic approach to care.
At Alden, we recognize how important it is for our residents to be
engaged and stimulated. That is why we have designed a daily
recreational activities program that takes into account their unique
physical, emotional, psychological and social needs.
Residents in the Pathways Program benefit from a familiar, home-like
setting. We believe providing residents with a pleasant, memory evoking
environment can further help to decrease many of the symptoms of
Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias such as agitation, anxiety, lack
of enthusiasm and aggravation.
The Pathways Program offers three levels of Memory Care Programming
to meet our residents’ needs, including:
- Memory Strengthening Program
- Memory Path Program
- Emotion Path Program
All three Memory Care Programs help residents create a pathway to
memory evoking moments, which helps provide a therapeutic intervention
to meet a person where they are in a moment.
The Pathways Program staff member is specially trained in Alzheimer’s
Disease and related disorders, including ability centered care
approaches. They recognize that each resident has experienced a life
before Alzheimer’s Disease that needs to be protected and preserved
throughout.
Our mission is to provide an exceptional memory care experience and
welcome you to ‘experience the difference’ in memory care at Alden.
